In college, my studio Professors all consistently would tell me to loosen up in my renderings so those critiques are in the back of my mind whenever I am creating art. So in my photography, I have incorporated those instructions whenever I open up the aperture in my Lensbaby Velvet 56mm lens and get this great bokeh effect. In Black Mountain, NC I captured these two images and in the first image here I purposely under exposed to also "loosen up" the rendering.
